Conducted field research and a design audit of communication materials, and produced a strategy and tools to generate community engagement for 303 ArtWay, a proposed art walkway project through the Park Hill neighborhood in Denver, Colorado which utilizes public transit heavily but also lacks basic infrastructure, like sidewalks, to help people safely navigate the area.

With a goal of making 303 ArtWay a project built on input and feedback from the community they knew how important it was to establish an open dialogue. But they were having a hard time getting people to respond to surveys and connecting to get the input and information they needed.

We connected with key stakeholders in the neighborhood including community organizations, local businesses, and community members to research and get a better understanding of the problem and gain baseline understanding of what their needs were.

After researching the problems further and conducting an audit, we split into task force groups, with our group focusing on communication strategy, ways 303ArtWay could better use language, visuals, and tools to communicate with their community.

We were able reach more community members and key stake holders by recognizing strategic gaps, developing an action plan for their website. The tools we created also generated community input and we saw survey completions increase as well.
